Hey Jeff,Yea I like the sound of the old school drum lines. The ones that sound amolst like rope drums. But I recommed you watch and listen to a video of the Edinburg Tatto Festival in Scotland. Do a google search for it. This is a style using that tight head sound. These are the best rudimental drummers I have ever heard. And that tight head sound allows you to hear all the snare drummers playing as one instrument. Most impressive.
